We talk about it, all the time, but rarely do it. We put it off because our weight is not perfect, our hair is not cut, we have that huge zit. We stress over having the perfect outfits, we stress to find the time.
Professional pictures.
If you were to grab your phone and scroll through the pictures, what is all in there? Skylines, travels, some food porn, a couple of selfies, tons of either our pets or kids, some occasional pics of the hubby or partner, but how many of you? Just you? You and your family? Probably not many.
We’ve read the articles and blogs on how we need to get on the other side, ask our friends for the pictures, but we are not amazing at that. As much as I love my husband, and yes I need to follow my own words, but the pics in his phone of me, are less than desirable, but there are still there. But there could be more, but that is a whole ‘nother post I could do.
The point I am getting to is that there are people, who want to take your pictures, who want to capture you and the people/things that are important to you. We drop mad cash on food, drinks and travel, but are we taking the time to hire someone to capture us? Probably not. Now I am not being asked to write this, not sponsored or anything like that, simply someone who just finished a family picture session with not only my little family, but with my parents and brothers family, too.
I stressed, I ran my butt to Old Navy to see if I could find us ALLLLL the matching to the $5.00 dress I just happened to order for my daughter through a random online boutique. In this same happen chance of me not being the perfect size I want to be, but still wanted to feel good, I went up a size in my shirt.. yep, sure did and I loved it.
Even if hiring a straight up professional isn’t your jam, or maybe not in the budget, grab a friend! They will snap up all the pictures and make your phone so full you run out of memory.. but guess what, those pictures are there. Tell them to grab the shots where you are looking at each other, not the camera. Grab the upside-down smiles, grab the running a-ways, snap the hugs. Those are the moments that years down the road will make you smile.
And this my friends, is what this post is about. Thank you to Michelle Warren Photography for an awesome photo session last night with my crew.
